I would bet against it working. You need a CableCARD compatible device:
Through the use of a CableCARD device, consumers can descramble the encrypted digital signal provided by Cablevision without the use of a traditional set top box. - From here
As far as I know there's nothing available for computers because Cable Labs won't certify any DIY devices. Check out this Slashdot discussion.
